My mother-in-law has been going to this place for over 15 years. I just had a chance to try this place. There are a variety of Ramen choice to choose from. The soup base are pretty good. Might not be the best I've eaten, but it is considered top 5 Ramen restaurants in my list. I came from the Bay area and have tried quite a lot of Ramen places. Ramen is one of my favorite dish. The best Ramen that still stands the #1 in the whole California is Nagi! If you haven't tried Nagi you surely will miss out. Note: Togo box extra $1 charge.
[sigh] So good I forgot to snap pics... :P Gomen has been a fam favorite for many years, they're consistent and authentic in their flavor. The service is always great, and there's decent inside seating for both lunch and dinner groups. If you haven't been yet, then you certainly should. :)
This place is was such a hidden gem. It's small but the service was great and they have tons of options to choose from for all your ramen noodle cravings. They have a bookshelf of manga comic books as soon as you walk in and are playing anime on the tv. Got the Original Deluxe ramen with the double chashu pork!! and my wife got the Kakuni Deluxe! We both thoroughly enjoyed our food and experience. Finished with a complimentary Ube and Matcha Mochi Ice cream! Would recommend!
From the moment you walk in, you can already tell that you'll be happy with the meal you receive. This cozy establishment brings such a warm ambiance alongside the great staff and welcoming personas. As a family we used to visit gomen on multiple occasions before the pandemic and it was nice to see that the food is even better than before. In total we ordered the veggie ramen (with spinach noodles) (8/10 used to have more veggies but the soup and noodles was nostalgic), pork meat lovers (10/10), kids ramen with gyoza (10/10) and side of fried rice, takoyaki (10/10) and the Jjajang ramen. This was the first time I tried the Jjaiang ramen and I actually enjoyed this more than my usual soup ramen. I ordered with mushrooms as well. Super delicious! (9/10) The broth is always very flavorful and brings so much comfort. Spinach noodles are definitely a family go to, always well cooked and adds fun to the ramen. The kids meal is great and very plentiful in portion with a side that gives kids a change to enjoy more than just ramen. I am a fan favorite of takoyaki and loved how soft and crunchy it came out. All in all, it was an amazing dinner especially with complementary dessert when you dine in. I LOVED the mango mochi, so tempted to figure out where it's from just to have some for myself. The strawberry was yummy and the one with boba was a fun treat.
I needed to make another review to share how Incredible Gomen is. It is near and dear to my heart that it sets the expectations HIGH when I try other ramen places out of town. (Gomen always ends up being the better ramen restaurant) Gomen's service continues to be extraordinary. The food has amazing taste and flavor. It's so good that I am open to try other menu items. Thank you for always being the go-to spot. The ambiance is pleasant and the servers are attentive and treat customers well.
Enough parking. Ambiance casual with average noise. We were hungry after a day of shopping and here we are We started with fried squid. Each pieces are large enough for two bites. The sauce was a much needed addition and was flavorful. The deep fried gyoza was good. We decided to order another one. The broth for the ramen was nice and the noodles had great texture. The half fried rice was our least favorite dish. When it arrived, it was on the cold side. Flavor wise ,it was lacking in my opinion, and the rice itself tasted old. We also had the Katsu Curry. It's nothing like Japan, but it was good. Probably the best dish of the night. Service and waiting time was quick. Just need the servers to smile more. Will come back for sure.
Great taste, good portions, kid approved. A very solid ramen and rice dish restaurant in this area. Food is all a pretty big size for the price and they even gave free mochi ice cream at the end. The kakuni deluxe ramen was gigantic - as filling as getting an extra noodle large at another restaurant. Broth was tasty, lots of toppings and the kakuni meat had a drier, shredded meat feel than other kakuni meat but was still good. Cheese katsu curry had a lot of curry sauce. Maybe only half the bowl was rice - the half with the katsu on top. The rice was filling though, meaning you're almost guaranteed a curry takeaway for another meal. Would recommend both.
Gomen just released a new menu so I had to check it out! Some items on the new menu are the Dungeness crab ramen and the Galbi ramen and they're both fully loaded! The Dungeness crab ramen comes with clams and shrimp, and are super fresh. The Galbi ramen comes with 6 enormous pieces of short ribs. The meat is so tender that it falls off the bone The portions on these bowls are crazy too! It can easily feed 3-4 people The restaurant itself is nice and cozy. I love that they play anime on the tv and how they have manga right showcased in the front. Service is top notch too. Definitely check them out when you're in the area!
I recently visited Gomen Ramen in Stanton and had an amazing experience. This cozy restaurant serves delicious Japanese Ramen, appetizers, and drinks. Despite being busy during lunchtime, the service was friendly and the food was so flavorful. They offer a variety of noodle choices including thin, thick, spinach, tofu, low-carb, and gluten-free noodles. I enjoyed their healthy options. The menu include different types of broth like chicken, pork, and a veggie option. I loved the meat lover ramen with triple chasu as it was a generous portion and the soup was rich and flavorful. Additionally, they offer fried rice, udon, curry, and a variety of appetizers such as fried dumplings, takoyaki, and Karaage. The Karaage was especially good, perfectly fried and juicy. The service was friendly, although the food did take a while to arrive. However, the delicious food made the wait worthwhile.
